Bantam Thermocouples -

Swaged or MGO Assemblies Swaged or MgO thermocouples have a metal sheath and compacted Magnesium oxide pourder for insulation. Since they have ceramic insulation, swaged thermocouples can go to a much higher temperature than Miniature and Probe types. Swaged thermocouples are very flexible and can safe- ly handle a bend around a surface two times the diameter of the sheath. Note: lf you would like to order a Type E, J, N, or Type T assembly, iust substitute the K with a E, J, N, or T in the part numbers listed on this page. Double element assemblies are also available. Add a "D" to the part num- ber. Example: 1 8K4S9D-G-HX-* Swaged thermocouples are also available in Types, C, B, R, and S. Sheath materials other than the common ones listed at the bottom of this page can be ordered. Thermocouples are made with high purity Magnesium oxide insulation and conductors which are within special limits of error.

Swaged or MgO, Hex Fitting Swaged thermocouple assemblies with a hexfitting (HX) are used where a 316 stainless steel 112" x 112" NPT fitting is desirable for mounting to the process and to the connection head. The hex fittings are welded to the sheath for strength and proper sealing. A grounded junction is standard for rapid response. A 1/8" NPT 316 stainless steel compression fitting (CF) can also be specified by adding CF to the end of the part number. 8 11 14 16 18 20 24 Swaged ot MgO, Hex Fitting & Head Swaged thermocouple assemblies with a hex litting (HX) are used where a 316 stainless steel 112" x112" NPT fitting is desirable for mounting to the process and to the connection head. The hex fittings are welded to the sheath for strength and proper sealing. These assemblies also come with our (SH ) style standard aluminum weatherproof head. A grounded junction is standard for rapid response. A 1/8" NPT 316 stainless steel compression fitting (CF) can also be specified by adding CF to the end of the part number. 8 11 14 16 18 20 24 Swaged or MgO, Compression Fitting & Head Swaged thermocouple assemblies with our (SH ) sVle standard aluminum weatherproof head. A grounded junction for rapid response and 1/8" NPT 316 stainless steel compression fitting (CF) are standard. 8 11 Swaged or MgO, Transition Fitting Swaged transition assemblies have extension wires attached to the thermocouple. This is beneficial when the instrument is located some distance from the area where the temperature is being measured. A relief spring is installed to give protection to the potted junctions. A grounded junction and 3" of split leads are standard. A 1/8" NPT 316 stainless steel compression litting (CF) can also be specified by adding CF to the end of the part number. 18 20 24 Swaged or lllgO, Armored Cable Swaged transition assemblies have extension wires attached to the thermocouple. #9 alloy (600) is standard, but #7 (446ss), #B (304ss), #16 (316ss), #20 (310s) or #23 (2300) can be requested. Just replace the 9 in the part number. "Add thermocouple length (P) as the sufiix. Multiples of 6" are in stocked, but any length can be specified. Page 44
